Meet Jona – Yonoton's new Account Manager

Jona Lehtinen has more than 20 years of experience in the HoReCa industry. Jona brings a strong understanding of restaurant operations and extensive hands-on experience with POS and cash register systems. Having worked on the operational side of the industry, he knows first-hand the challenges restaurant teams face in their everyday work – and what technology needs to do to genuinely make things easier.

Jona joins Yonoton with a clear interest in combining his industry experience with technology and helping our customers make their daily operations smoother and more efficient.

We sat down with Jona to hear what attracted him to Yonoton, what he is looking forward to in his new role, and what he thinks the future of technology in restaurants should look like.

1. What attracted you to Yonoton, and what made you decide to join the team?

The job ad caught my eye and the role itself seemed like an excellent fit. I felt that the values, sense of humor, and attitude people have at Yonoton are aligned with mine.

2. What are you most excited about in your new role at Yonoton?

Learning more about the tech that makes restaurants run smoother, and being able to offer solutions to customers that make their day-to-day much more efficient.

3. Can you tell us briefly about your career journey and what brought you to this point?

My background is heavily on the operational side of the HoReCa industry, with over 20 years of experience across different roles. A few years back, I had the opportunity to work on a project for a big event venue optimizing their POS systems, provided by a competitor, and it left me with one big question, should it really be this difficult?

4. What experience, skills or perspective do you bring to Yonoton that you’re particularly looking forward to putting into practice?

I bring perspective on what day-to-day restaurant operations are like, so I deeply understand the struggles end users face. I look forward to translating these points to Yonoton's "dark side" and figuring out solutions together so that we can build even better platform features that genuinely help our partners instead of giving them grey hair.

5. What made Yonoton feel like the right place for you at this stage of your career?

Having used various POS systems for 20 years, I’ve lived through the everyday struggle with all sorts of apps and systems. At Yonoton, I feel I actually have the chance to offer better, smarter solutions for the whole industry.

6. If you could improve one thing about the way technology is used in restaurants, hospitality or entertainment, what would it be?

I would make technology frictionless for both staff and guests so that it would improve the overall experience.

So in essence, I would make everyone use Yonoton :)

7. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I play floorball at least once a week and hit the gym when I get the chance, but most of my free time is spent with my wonderful family.

8. And finally: what is your secret superpower that even your closest friends or family might not know about?

I think I'm like Batman, but without the cool cars and money... So no superpowers here, just a strong willingness to work for results.
