Pasi makes a transition to Yonoton from Silvercoin Studios where he has worked as a Managing Director.
Tell us a bit about your background?
Ciao! I’m Pasi, born and raised in Helsinki and having completed my business studies in Maastricht, NL, and partly in Cambridge, UK. I’m a business all-rounder having my passion for both designing and operating projects with ambitious & international visions.
I am a two-time founder of my own companies and a business operator, in industries ranging from mobile gaming to esports, and from producing & selling my long drink brand to being an internal startup coach & business designer in one of the Nordics’ most notable telcos Elisa. Despite different industries, one could say that my role has been to bring certainty and structure into where uncertainty is a given.
I love to work with teams and people committed to bringing the best of themselves to the table & who help each other to reach their full potential too.
Why Yonoton?
Yonoton’s journey is at a super interesting point, where it has already found a solid product-market fit and has taken its first steps to start scaling the company. I strongly believe that Yonoton products can be brought to even faster speed & scale, and that’s what I hope to help the company with. Another big reason for wanting to join Yonoton was that the team includes people whose business and operational acumen I appreciate highly, and I can trust that there are the brightest minds and the purest souls to solve the possible challenges.
Yonoton’s future insights?
I believe Yonoton to be at the very forefront of improving the experience and efficiency of thousands of restaurants, theme parks, and other businesses around the Nordics, Europe, and the world. The company has already delivered great solutions to painstaking customer problems and has the attitude & capability to keep doing that on a lot larger scale.
Yonoton is growing rapidly - expectations?
It’s of course a great thing that the company is scaling and growing. In my personal role I’d love to help organize Yonoton’s operations and business model to its optimal form, and keep Yonoton as close as possible to its customers and their challenges. At the end of the day, understanding their world and business is at the very core, what Yonoton should develop tools for.
I have experience in bringing & keeping similar fast-paced operations together, which hopefully will help me be of value to my new colleagues at Yonoton.
Name one achievement that you are most proud of?
It’s difficult to find and name one particular experience over others, but it could be for example producing the first ever Finnish long drink to be consumed by a sherpa at the base camp of Mt. Everest. Fun times.
I’m proud to have gathered significant experience in international business, which allows me to understand & interact with people and businesses across the world better.
In addition, I’m very proud that I’ve managed to keep good relationships with all of my good friends.
What do you like to do outside of work?
When talking about exercising in a more structured way, I could mention tennis and gym exercise to be something I approach in a more serious way currently. In more casual moments I love walks at the oceanfront, where you can hear the waves hitting the coast, or cook a tasty dinner at home. In addition I love esports, and play Counter-Strike and Apex Legends when possible, sometimes more casual but sometimes more competitively.
